Words As A Revolution

The world is changing.

Yesterday, the world was informed in writing (via newspaper articles, blogs, and social media post) that Alabama criminalised abortion under the Human Life Protection Act.

The highly political, highly controversial decision was agreed upon using words, signed into law using words, sparked outrage using words, and ignited a revolution… using words.

What does this mean?

YOUR WORDS ARE THE REVOLUTION.

Your access to the global stage of content sharing, content creating and word generating is amplified.

It is literally in the palm of your hand.

It is highly likely that you have read a post, status, meme, or quote that relates to the decision to criminalise abortion. You’ve read the words of the people who are furious. You’ve seen the images of the protestors who hold up their words, demanding change. Demanding equality. Demanding rights.

WHAT YOU'RE DOING ABOUT IT

If there is one thing that you do today, be it a conscious acknowledgement of the power of your words, no matter the  strength or popularity of your message or story.

Never silence your words.

They are the revolution.
